Why I Have Nothing but Contempt for Some Facebook Users
Facebook has taken the place of traditional interaction amongst friends and families. There are less, intelligent phone calls. There is only text messaging and obnoxious drawl in public most phone users believe complete strangers want to hear. Children are texting a mile a minute walking down the street, glued to their handheld screens, bumping into other pedestrians, risking getting hit by vehicles occupied by imbecile generations texting or yapping behind the wheel on their cell phones. The cell phone has become outrageously compacted with so many features not meant for a phone that after seconds of use users are required to charge its battery. The English language has become abbreviated to the point that soon generations after us will speak in complete, three-letter slang. Facebook is made available via cellular phone, not to mention the other annoying social networks (oh, how convenient). Oh, it is so magically wonderful to keep in touch. You didn't want to have anything to do with me 20 years ago in high school so guess what .. I don't want you looking me up now nor do I care to keep in touch with you by so much as a message in a bottle. So, do I directly have contempt for a dot com called Facebook? No. That would be completely stupid. I have contempt for those who abuse Facebook and have become addicted to the childish, lets get connected roleplaying games, etc. beyond Facebook. I have nothing but contempt for some Facebookers' gossipy wall posts and whiney, sniffling updates. I have nothing but contempt for some Facebookers' debauched photos of themselves. If you have a question to ask me, call me on the phone and ask it. If you want to know anything about me, call me on the phone and ask it. Or .. there's the latter .. are you ready? .. this is going to be really tough on you .. KNOCK ON MY DOOR, I'LL HAVE A POT OF COFFEE READY AND WE WILL SIT DOWN AT MY TABLE AND TALK. The Internet, preferably email, is a terrific innovation. We no longer have to wait a month to receive correspondence from our penpal overseas. Satellite phones allow us to conduct business internationally without excessive beeping, dropped calls and nothing but static after you and the individual on the other end of the line say 'hello'. However, more people are abusing cell phone use and social networking than those of you who have half a brain and use these resources to benefit the other half of your brain. --- submitted by Anonymous
